Happy Tape Makes Me Happy

happytape

I spent about half an hour last night staring at all the different tapes and imagining what I could do with packaging for the store. I know it's more of an extra that a necessity, but it might make our customers a little happier as well. And that makes me happy.

Sidewalk Sale

Now that I know Henry is over three months and he won't cause me to self destruct everyday, I decided to get The Store going again. We aren't planning another brick and mortar until at least a year from now, but I decided to get things going again with a Pumpkin Festival Sidewalk Sale at Eli's.

Sidewalk Sale 9/18

This is Henry and I at the sale. I look so tired and frumpy, but Henry gave me a heck of a night the night before.

It was a great success! We had so many regulars come by that said they missed us, which was so nice for me to hear. I got to show off Henry and finally get some sun. But by the middle of the day Morton was swarmed with bugs! Little annoying aphid like bugs within inches of each other in the sky. They were all over everything and some people thought that some of our fabrics were spotted until they looked up close. Hopefully you can see them in this picture.

Sidewalk Sale

I thought they were going to be the end of me, but we made it.

We are hoping to get our web store going by October and we will be having Fair Trade House Parties. So if you are local and would like to have one, let me know!

Henry slept in his crib for the entire night! He still woke up to eat at midnight, and 3:30, and woke up at 5:00 and needed some help getting back to sleep. But he went back to his crib each time with minimal fussing. This is a success in my book and I feel much more rested today, although I have a lot of catching up to do! Off to play.

Transition Time

One tired Momma here. I can't quite figure out if Henry isn't a good sleeper, or if he is a product of a very inconsistent momma. For the last three months my night has looked pretty much like this: Henry in bed (a basket right next to our bed) at either 7, 8 or 9 pm. Up again at 1 am for a feeding and then craziness sets in after that. Maybe two or three more hours of interrupted sleep, but probably what seems to be cluster feeding every hour. And a pacifier just won't do. So in my sleepy eyed, survival mode thoughts, Henry ends up in bed right next to me around 5am. Open up the buffet and back to dreamland for both of us.

Well now the little man is out growing his basket, and we are in need of some peace and quiet. Problem is that his nursery is upstairs and our bedroom is downstairs. The first night he ended up in bed with me at 2 am, and last night at 3 am. I'm shooting for 4 am tonight and 5 am the next, until he feel safe enough in his room to sleep there all night. Then we'll have to work on this sleeping through the night business.

It's hard to be consistent.
